La coopération transatlantique dans la lutte contre le terrorisme, conférence suivie du film l’Etoile du Soldat.

Après avoir observé l’évolution et la typologie des menaces terroristes internationales, Jean-Louis Bruguière insistera sur la nécessité d’une coopération transatlantique. Une attention toute particulière doit être portée à l’utilisation par les réseaux terroristes de moyens modernes de communication : réseau internet utilisé par exemple par Al-Qaïda pour sa propagande et dans un cadre opérationnel.

L’arrivée de la nouvelle administration aux Etats-Unis et l’abandon du concept de « War on Terror » devrait faciliter ce partenariat transatlantique à l’heure où de nouvelles menaces se profilent.

About the author: Hannah Pakula attended Wellesley College, the Sorbonne, and Southern Methodist University. She is a book reviewer for the Los Angeles Times.

Eiffel wine reception

Last weekend at Letelier Theater we had two exciting new events!

On Friday, author Jill Jonnes gave a talk about her recent book, Eiffel’s Tower, which was followed by a screening of Charles Berling‘s documentary film Sur les traces de Gustave Eiffel. RWUL‘s “I Luv Africa” film series and community discussion lasted all day Saturday, starting with a delicious catered reception, followed by special guest speakers (including Miss Africa USA) and five fascinating African film screenings.
